Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data we hold, why, and your rights. It covers people who use the site and people whose business details appear in our listings.
Who we are
Signed Off is a trading name of Greenlight Surveyors Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 16067475), registered office 138 Plough Hill Road, Nuneaton, CV10 9NY. If your business is listed
Most listings are for limited companies, but some are for sole traders or partnerships, where business details can also be personal data.
- What we hold: business name, town or area, website address, services offered, accreditations stated or verified, and the date we last checked the details. We don’t list personal home addresses or personal phone numbers.
- Where it comes from: your own website, Companies House and public accreditation registers.
- Why: to help people find qualified providers for planning and Building Regulations reports.
- Lawful basis: legitimate interests. We have assessed that listing publicly advertised business details is expected and has little impact on the people concerned, as long as they can easily correct or remove them.
- Telling you: we will contact listed businesses within one month of creating a listing to let them know.
- Your choices: you can correct, claim or remove your listing at any time on our list your firm page.
If you request quotes or contact us
- What we collect: the details you enter, such as your name, email, site postcode and project description.
- Why: to pass your request to the providers you asked for, or to answer your message.
- Lawful basis: taking steps at your request, and our legitimate interests in running the service.
- Who sees it: only the providers your request is sent to, and our form-handling service, Formspree, which passes each form to us by email. This also applies to the forms for listing, claiming, correcting or removing a firm and applying for a featured listing.
- How long we keep it: 12 months, then it is deleted.
If you buy a featured listing
- What we collect: the contact details and accreditation numbers you give us when you apply. When you subscribe, we keep a record of your company name, email address, plan and region, and the status of your subscription.
- Payments: are taken by Stripe on its own secure checkout page, and Stripe processes your card details under its own privacy notice. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Where it’s kept: your subscription record is stored in a database run by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and Stripe keeps its own record of your payments.
- Lawful basis: performing our contract with you, and our legal duty to keep accounting records.
- How long we keep it: for as long as you are a customer, then 6 years for accounting records.
Searching by postcode or town
If you use “find the nearest providers”, the postcode or town you type is sent from your browser to postcodes.io, a free UK postcode lookup service, to work out where it is. We don’t receive or keep what you type, and nothing is saved. Comparing providers happens entirely in your browser.
Cookies and advertising
See our cookie policy. We will ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are used.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or complain to us or to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). We respond to requests within one month.
