About these reports
Noise impact assessment. A noise impact assessment looks at noise affecting a site, or noise a new use would create, so the council can judge whether people will be disturbed.
Sound insulation testing. Pre-completion sound testing checks that the separating walls and floors between homes block enough airborne and impact sound to meet Part E of the Building Regulations.
Overheating assessment. Part O of the Building Regulations requires new homes to be designed so they do not overheat in summer.
Daylight and sunlight assessment. A daylight and sunlight assessment measures how much natural light a new building or extension would take from neighbouring windows and gardens, and how much light the new rooms themselves would get.
SAP calculations. A SAP calculation shows building control that a new home, conversion or heavily glazed extension meets the energy and carbon targets in Part L of the Building Regulations.
Air tightness testing. An air tightness test measures how much air leaks out of a building through gaps in its fabric.
