About new build snagging survey

A snagging survey is an independent inspection of a newly built or newly converted home, checking the finish and workmanship against the standard it should have been built to, so defects can be put to the developer before or shortly after you move in.

Getting signed off in England

In England, your council’s building control team or a registered building control approver checks the work. They issue a completion or final certificate once they have the reports they need, such as the as-built SAP, EPC, air test and any sound or ventilation test results.
