About these reports
Air tightness testing. An air tightness test measures how much air leaks out of a building through gaps in its fabric.
SAP calculations. A SAP calculation shows building control that a new home, conversion or heavily glazed extension meets the energy and carbon targets in Part L of the Building Regulations.
On-construction EPC. When a new home is finished, or a building is converted into a new home, an on-construction Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) has to be produced from the as-built SAP calculation and lodged on the government register.
Domestic EPC. An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rates how energy efficient a home is, from A to G, and lists ways to improve it.
Water efficiency calculations. Every new home in England must be designed so that water use is no more than 125 litres per person per day.
Ventilation commissioning. If a new home has mechanical ventilation, such as extract fans, continuous extract or MVHR, the air flow rates must be tested and the results given to building control.
Overheating assessment. Part O of the Building Regulations requires new homes to be designed so they do not overheat in summer.
